Technology is being utilised all around the world as a tool to help make decisions about how our towns and cities run. These devices range from cameras that can tell if a driver is using a cellphone to sensors that can keep track of who is utilising the roads. Numerous towns are implementing sensor-based smart traffic lights as a result of growing awareness of the damaging impact of traffic accidents on GDP. The use and integration of transportation surveillance are required to gather and improve real-time traffic information, wherein traffic sensors currently play a crucial part in meeting the requirement. These Traffic Sensor gather information that is applied to a variety of tasks, including predicting bottlenecks, flow monitoring, and travel time estimation. There are more automobiles on the road as a result of rising urbanisation and population. which the government has addressed by making changes to the transportation system. This infrastructure's high setup cost represents a significant barrier to the development of traffic sensors. Types of Sensors-
The installation of traffic sensors will now be a necessary component of traffic monitoring and analysis of the movement patterns and interactions of moving vehicles in the traffic. This should improve the effectiveness of managing traffic, including congestion. A sophisticated traffic monitoring system is being developed by the participants and institutions due to the dramatically rising number of commercial vehicles. For instance, the campus prototype of smart traffic monitoring systems was built by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, India. Major players and researchers are also putting the newest emerging technology for traffic monitoring to the test. The Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) researchers started testing artificial intelligence (AI) traffic monitoring, which is likely to boost the use of traffic sensors in the future. An innovative and efficient traffic management system is becoming more and more necessary as the number of passenger cars rises. Due to the emergence of electric vehicles, the number of passenger automobiles has increased by over 7% since 2015 and is anticipated to rise. As a result, it is probably going to increase demand for intelligent traffic monitor and control systems, which will positively affect how often traffic sensors are used.
